Transform Your Life with Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga has expand my awareness in ways I could not have imagined. May it do the same for you.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness, an ancient spiritual practice originating in South Asia. It uses sound, movement, breath work, relaxation and meditation. 'The angles of the postures, fuelled by the breath, retuned by the repetition of mantra, and concentrated by the eye focus and body locks, change us at the core of our being'. (Wisdom of Practice-3ho)

What is a Kriya?

Kriya refers to any complete action such as a yoga set or meditation. It is done for a specific amount of time and a specific purpose. Practicing a set initiates physical, emotional, mental and spiritual changes. There are sets for the nervous system, for the glandular system, for mental balance, for sleep and many more. Each set works towards a particular outcome and on all levels of your being at once.

How to practice?

Which kriya to practice?

Generally you need to follow the sequence as given, except to reduce the timing and modify the postures as your body needs. If you cannot do certain poses or they are causing you pain, you can visualize the shape and do whatever physical approximation suits your body.

You can start by choosing a set based on what you know you need. Or based on what you are drown towards. Know that you will benefit from most kriyas. You may come across kriyas that have a big impact on you. Kriyas that help you expand your awareness, transform, release or give you strength. You may consider doing that kriya for extended periods of time like 40, 90, 120, 1000 days or for the rest of your life. The purpose of such commitment is to strengthen the aspect of consciousness that particular kriya addresses.
